There are two St. Patrick's Dollarbies at Origami:
There are also a few other dollarbies, just check the walls. Nothing over $L25.
I saw this dress on the Imagen Divine blog last week, and immediately went and bought it. I love the loose, hippie/bohemian-inspired desses I'm seeing everywhere lately. I tried on several pairs of shoes, but the little flat Boho sandals from She's So Unusual were perfect, as were the new silver bangles from Shiny Things. The cropped cardigan was just in case I got cold later.

I don't really know if I'll ever end up doing anything major in SL, i.e., designing clothing or making furniture or anything, but I decided that if I do, I don't want anyone to steal my name. So I bought salviahomewood.com last night. Domain names are SO cheap now, and I just redirected it to this site, so it didn't really cost much. It made me happy, though.
As soon as I heard that Tableau was open again, I rushed over to buy these earrings at Yummy. I'd seen them awhile ago, but when I decided to buy them, Tableau was closed for renovations. I thought they went wonderfully with this top from LeeZu Baxter Designs.

SL was difficult for me last night. The first time I logged in, when I tried to change my hair, it attached it to my crotch. Not a pretty site, let me tell you. I should have taken a picture, though. I tried several times, and got the same result, so I logged out and back in.
That time, I couldn't open my eyes. Everything else was pretty much okay, but no matter what I did, my eyes stayed closed. So I tried again, and this time my eyes would open, and hair would stick to my head. I kept crashing, though, so after I took a few pictures, I gave up and went to bed.
I had a cool costume, though, even though no one else saw it. I was going for a sort of gritty, "urban fairy" look.
Aren't the wings great? Here's a good shot from the back.

I've only been in Second LIfe for four months, so I know that I've only scratched the surface of what's available. I read a lot of fashion blogs, and do a LOT of shopping, more than I'd probably care to admit. I do, however, get a lot of freebies, and I LOVE that. I also pick up a lot of demos--in certain things, like shoes and jewelry, you can't really tell what it's going to look like just by seeing the product in the store. And skins, of course -- they all look so very different depending on what your body shape and face look like, and they're usually the most expensive thing that you will buy, so you want to be really sure that it works for you before buying it.
My skin is from Celestial Studios, the "Charmed" line. There is a complete line made just for redheads, the "Auburn" line, and I think they're wonderful. I have four -- two in the lightest auburn shade, one with minimal makeup and one with the makeup a little heavier, and two in the next darkest shade, with the same two makeup options, and freckles. I also have "tan lines" from Celestial -- two pieces, worn on the underwear layer, that show just the faintest difference (on my fair skin), but I just kind of love knowing they're there.
I usually buy my hair from Hair by Tammi McCoy; I also have quite a few from ETD. It's interesting how there are certain stores/designers whose hair looks great on other people, but just doesn't really work with my face. I know, because I've tried on practically everything in the Bewitched store, and never ended up buying anything from there.
I heard about the sale at Curious Kitties, and rushed over there the other night. They're going to be putting up all new inventory, so every hairstyle in the store is on sale for L$50 through the 29th. The only problem I have with that store is that it's so dark that it's almost impossible to see anything. I ended up getting a bunch of demos and TP'ing back home to try them out where I could see what I was doing, then TP'ing back.
But even then it was hard, because--as far as I could tell--there weren't any color demos. So I made some bad choices, but for L$50, how could I complain?
This is "Untamed Neko," in "Impish." It's not bad, kinda cute.
This one is "Tobina," in "Passion Fruit Tropical." I'm not crazy about the color, but it's okay. But still, not really "normal" enough for regular, and not really crazy enough for Halloween, you know?
We're getting closer now. This one is really pretty cute, and I like the color. "Acius," in "Passion Fruit Pink." I think I could wear this one on a regular, medium-crazy day. But it's this one that I really like:
Whoa! "Interol" in "Blueberry Cream." Nutty, huh?

Oh, and I forgot the weirdest thing! I was in ETD trying on the new hairstyles, and someone said, "Master, did you wish her to purchase the platinum blonde or the black?" or something like that. I looked up, and there was this huge swarthy looking guy, and I thought, ooh, Gor! I'd never really seen one of them up close. So I crept up to the edge of a wall and used my camera to see over it. Yes, I eavesdropped. It was too juicy not to.
He was standing there, and there were two women kneeling at his feet, one of them in chains. He was buying them new hair; both of them looked pretty ruthed, but I couldn't tell if it was because I was having trouble rezzing stuff, or if they were actually brand-new. And I didn't want to click on them to see their profiles because I've done that and accidentally "friended" someone before, so I didn't want to risk it.
I took some pictures, but I thought better about posting them, so I threw them away.
Anyway, I guess they got their hair, then he said he was going to take them someone and buy them silks, so I kind of assumed from that that they were new. They thanked him for the hair, referring to themselves as "this one," i.e., "Master, this one thanks you for the hair." Sooooooo creepy.
And he said something like, "Girls, we shall teleport to [some name] where there is less lag, and I may buy you some silks."
Somewhere in the middle of all that, he typed "BRB," and stood there, and the girls just stayed crouched at his feet, and a few minutes later, he typed, "back." I like to think that he had to go answer the phone, or the door, or take out the trash, or deal with a little kid, obviously something in real life.
And then after they left, I saw another Gor master with his girl (slave?), but she was already wearing silks, and was trying on hair. Platinum, of course.
Too weird. Too creepy for me. What kind of woman would want to play act being a man's property? Not me. I can see the appeal of the silks--they're really pretty, some of them, and very sexy, but having a man drag me around on a chain? No thanks.
